Pure Derma Microcurrent Facial Toning Wand

The Pure Derma London Advanced EMS Microcurrent Facial Toning Wand is a premium quality, handheld, slimline rechargeable EMS microcurrent facial toner that actually works!

The EMS microcurrent wand is a skincare tool that combines electrical muscle stimulation (EMS) and microcurrent therapy to firm, tone, and rejuvenate the face. While both EMS and microcurrent use low level electrical currents, they work differently and offer unique skincare benefits.

Designed with quality 360 degree rotating twin 3D zinc alloy rotating spheres for optimal treatment of the facial muscles.

Featuring 3 microcurrent intensity levels and with warm & cold roller massage features, it is one of the leading at home use EMS microcurrent toning devices available in the UK.

Please note, EMS microcurrent devices require a water based conductive gel to be applied to your skin to allow the low level current pass from the device to your skin.

We recommend using the Pure Derma London Aloe Vera Gel as the conductive gel and we include a free 30ml travel size with your purchase.

How to Use the LED Light Therapy Face Mask

Remember consistency is the one of the most important points to consider with LED light therapy, getting into a routine with your LED face mask can be the best way to see results.

Prepare the skin for using the LED Light Therapy Face Mask

Start by washing your face, cleanse your skin and dry, ensure that all make up, creams and serums has been removed before use.

Using the LED Light Therapy Face Mask

Charge the controller, remember if it's the first use, ensure the controller is fully charged, for subsequent uses, the controller does not need to be fully charged. The controller normally lasts for around 120 minutes depending on energy setting and frequency of use.

Starting with your chosen light colour wavelength, pick a time and energy setting that works for you and your skin type.

Please remember, everyone's skin is different and use of the mask with duration and frequency can vary from person to person, meaning it's important to see what works best for you and your skin type.

It's suggested to start with 10 minute sessions for red and yellow light colour wavelengths, 3 times per week and using the lowest energy setting. For blue light, start with 5 minute sessions, again 3 times per week and starting on the lowest energy setting.

Adjust the time and frequency, working to 3-5 times week, depending on what works for you and your skin type.

Use the NIR to boost effectiveness of the other colour wavelengths. Increase the energy setting at a pace that suits your skin type.

It is possible to use more than one colour in a day or in the same session, however, this should be done whilst checking what works best for you and our skin in terms of duration and frequency.

You can use creams and serums after using the LED face mask. This is a personal choice, some experts suggest that pairing the right creams or serums with LED therapy can speed up results.

Acne

Blue LED Light (460nm) - has anti-bacterial effects which can help reduce and prevent acne.

With acne issues, suggested use of blue light is initially for a maximum 5 minutes per session.

For mild conditions, the suggested frequency is 3 times per week.

For severe conditions, it is suggested  to try a combination red light and blue light for 5 minutes each per session, once every two days for 4 weeks.

Depending on a person's skin absorption, if the absorption is good, you may see acne issues improving after about 15-20 days. Slower absorption may need approximately 30-40 days to see any improvement.

Results can vary depending on skin type and sensitivity. With persistent acne issues, it is advisable to seek advice from a qualified dermatologist.

Depending on skin type and skin sensitivity, the LED face mask can help to control oil, relieve and improve skin tightness, elasticity and brightness.

LED Light Therapy Face Mask Care Instructions

  1. The face mask section can be wiped clean using antibacterial wipes for sensitive skin or other similar wipes. Ideally use water based wipes to ensure longevity of the face mask silicone. Do not use alcohol based cleaning solutions, detergents or harsh cleaning chemicals as this may damage the silicone.
  2. Safely store in the protective Pure Derma London storage bag.

Please note: Care must be taken to protect the LED face and / or the neck & chest sections of the LED products, these contain printed circuits that connect the LEDs, any dent or bangs to these sections can result in either all or some of the LED light colours not working. Dents on the face or neck & chest sections of the LED products circuit are not covered by the 12 month warranty unless reported a the time of receipt of the product.

When Can I Expect to See Results?

LED light therapy is a non-invasive skin treatment that improves the skin by using the natural qualities in your skin and this takes time, remember consistency is key.

Depending on the LED light colour and the issue your working on, It may take 2-4 weeks to see the improvements and 6-8 weeks to see more significant results.

Adjust the frequency, duration and energy settings, inline with the user manual, whilst working out what works best for your and your skin type.

Everyone's skin is different and use of the mask with duration and frequency can vary from person to person. The skin absorption characteristics play a significant role in how soon results can be seen.

Remember, to maintain any improvements, the LED Light Therapy should become part of your normal skin care routine.

Results can vary depending on skin type, skin sensitivity, skin absorption and frequency of use.

What is LED Light Therapy?

LED light therapy is a clinical proven technology which was developed by NASA in the late 1980's whilst working with astronauts in promoting wound healing by helping skin cells and tissue to repair.

Today, it has become a commonplace technology used by dermatologists, aestheticians and facialists to treat a range of skin issues, skin appearance and to help with skin rejuvenation.

LED is an abbreviation of Light-Emitting Diode and is a type of device that emits light when an electric current is passed through it.

Each colour of light emitted by an LED has a different wavelength which penetrates the skin to different levels.

LED light therapy uses this non-invasive technology where light of different specific wavelengths enters the skin’s layers to stimulate various natural properties within the skin.

At Pure Derma London, we use this technology to provide our at home use LED light therapy face mask, ensuring you can have that regular spa treatment at a fraction of the cost.

How Does LED Light Therapy Work?

The LED light colour wavelengths penetrate into the skin at different depths triggering specific natural healing processes within the skin layers, this promotes skin rejuvenation, healing and repair.

Each light wavelength works at different levels within the skin to promote various biological effects which can result in observable improvements with a variety of skin issues.

The higher the light wavelength (nm) the greater the depth it penetrates the skin. The  Blue LED Light (460nm), Yellow LED Light (590nm) and Red Light (630nm) in the LED light therapy face mask are visible lights. The Near Infrared (NIR,  850nm) is not a visible light.

Does LED Light Therapy Actually Work?

Yes! The technology of the LED light therapy is backed by science and clinically proven, there is extensive research available which demonstrates the effectiveness of its use.  LED light therapy is not just hype, it's real science and can give real results. Order yours today and see for yourself.

How to Use the EMS Microcurrent Facial Toning Wand?

Firstly, does microcurrent hurt?

Microcurrent isn't a painful experience, the toning device uses a lower electrical charge, so you shouldn't feel any discomfort at all.

Using the EMS microcurrent facial toning wand:

Prepare you skin by ensuring it's clean and dry.

The Pure Derma EMS microcurrent wand has 3 Modes:

  • Microcurrent Mode
  • Warm Massage Mode
  • Cold Massage Mode

MICROCURRENT MODE:

Switch device on  – Hold 'POWER' button for 3 seconds until the LED indicator light is illuminated.

Press again to light up ‘EMSUP’ indicator and start microcurrent mode.

This mode has 3 intensity levels.

Switch between the 3 intensity levels with short presses on the 'POWER' button. The LED light will strengthen depending on intensity level.

Use the level that is comfortable for you.

Apply a water based conductive gel to your skin before use as this is needed to fully benefit from microcurrent conductivity. We recommend using the Pure Derma London Aloe Vera Gel.

Important: Don't delay, once the conductive gel is applied use the microcurrent immediately as the gel can be absorbed quickly into the skin.

You will NOT feel the benefit of microcurrent mode without applying a conductive gel.

Slowly glide outwards in upward lifting movements making sure both microcurrent spheres are touching your skin.

Jawline, Cheekbones, Neck, Eyebrows, Forehead & Lips are areas of the face where the microcurrent device is commonly used.

CHEEKBONES
Roll spheres slowly from the cheek upwards and outwards towards the hairline using the natural contours of the cheek as a guide…Repeat on other side.

JAWLINE
Hold horizontally at the centre of the chin and glide along the jawline towards the ear on both sides.

FOREHEAD
Roll spheres vertically, slowly gliding from the top of the brow upwards towards the hairline. Repeat on other side.

NECK
Roll spheres upwards from the base of the neck slightly off centre ending on the edge of the jawline on both sides avoiding the thyroid area. Repeat on other side.

LIPS
Stretch the top lip and glide across the upper lip. Tighten bottom lip and glide underneath.

RECOMMENDED MICROCURRENT MODE USE:

30 seconds per area or 5 slow passes, 3 times a week.

Different areas of the face have thinner skin and are more sensitive so will tolerate different intensities compared to other areas.

Pick your mode and intensity, following the user manual guidelines, apply conductive gel then place the device on the skin, making sure to apply a slight pressure to ensure full contact between the twin rollers and the skin.

Move the device using a very slow linear motion across your skin in the chosen area. Repeat on each area as required.

Start off slowly with the lowest energy intensity and work up from there.

WARM MASSAGE MODE:

Used to help with the absorption of your favourite serums & creams.

Switch device on  – Hold 'POWER' button for 3 seconds until the LED indicator light is illuminated.

Glide slowly outwards in upward lifting movements making sure both microcurrent spheres are touching your skin in the  jawline, neck, cheekbones, forehead, eyebrows and lip area as required.

In approximately 20 secs, the metal ball rollers will gently heat up, progressing to 42 degrees in 2 minutes.

Apply your favourite serum/cream after use.

COLD MASSAGE MODE:

Reduces puffiness and increases lymphatic drainage in the area treated.

For this mode, do not switch device on as this will heat up the rotating spheres.

5 slow passes gliding in outward & upward motions for each area.

Apply your favourite serum/cream after use.

GENERAL INFORMATION:

Microcurrent Mode & Warm Massage Mode will switch off after 6 minutes.

Results are cumulative and it is recommended to use the EMS microcurrent toning device regularly, with the frequency and duration dependant on the energy intensity level or mode being used.

This face lifting tool, helps repair damaged skin, stimulates collagen production, & helps reduce signs of ageing.

Pure Derma's microcurrent facial toning device is a must have simple to use hand held at home skin care device, it is also a great travel accessory.

Again, please note, the effects of the microcurrent devices are not as effective if a conductive gel is not applied to the skin before using the Facial Toning Device.

EMS Microcurrent Facial Wand Device Care Instructions

Cleaning the EMS Microcurrent Facial Toning Device

Always clean the device thoroughly after each use with a slightly damp soft cloth. Do not use alcohol, detergents, or harsh cleaning chemicals.

  • Do not immerse in water, the device is not waterproof.
  • After cleaning store it in its box or other safe place.

What is EMS Microcurrent Technology?

Microcurrent beauty technology devices use low-grade electrical impulses (low voltage electrical current) to stimulate the muscles in the face and neck area. EMS (electrical muscle stimulation) provides the deeper muscle stimulation and exercises the facial muscles by contracting them.

How Does the EMS Microcurrent Facing Toning Device Work?

The low voltage electrical current runs between the positive and negatively charged roller balls. When both are in contact with your skin with a conductive gel, the current flows through the muscles, training them to tone up. So, they don't actually work on the skin, but rather the muscle beneath the skin.

The Microcurrent EMS functions go deep into the muscle layer to activate muscle  movement and stimulate contraction to achieve a tightening effect, helping to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Important

  • Do not use if you have a history of epilepsy or seizures.
  • Do not use if you have a body worn medical device.
  • Do not use if you have an electronic implant device such as a defibrillator, neurostimulator, pacemaker, or ECG Monitor.

  • Do not use if you have any skin sensitisation issues or sensitive skin concerns.
  • Do not use if you are pregnant.
  • Not for use for anyone under the age of 18.
  • Keep the device out of the reach of children.

Can you use EMS microcurrent technology after Botox or Fillers?

If you have had Botox or Filler injections of any kind, you should wait at least two weeks before using microcurrent therapy to ensure you don’t have any issues or sensitivities with areas of your skin that have been injected. It is always best to obtain specialist advice from your aesthetics technician with regards the treatment you have had and when to use the microcurrent toning device.

Other Considerations:

It is not recommend to use retinol the day before using the microcurrent device. This is because the retinol can remain in the skin and when microcurrent is performed over the skin it may push the Retinol in deeper. Retinol can cause irritation of the skin when it is driven deeper into the skin.

It is also important not to use any type of chemical peel before a microcurrent treatment.

Some people may experience twitching of the muscle which is a sign that you need to turn down the intensity and may need to reduce the duration and frequency of use.

You may experience a metallic taste in the mouth after using microcurrent technology, this is because the current has an impact on the enzymes in saliva and is nothing to worry about. Any metallic taste is due to the current coming from the microcurrent probes and flowing to where our taste receptors are in the mouth . Dental work or fillings are not affected by the microcurrent device.
